By accessing and using OpaLingo ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

OpaLingo is an educational platform that provides:

• Interactive Macedonian language learning games
• Audio pronunciation for words and phrases
• Progress tracking and achievement systems
• Vocabulary and phrase learning tools
• Cultural and travel-oriented language content

Core learning — the learning journey, lessons, audio and daily practice — is free, and much of it can be used without an account. An optional paid Premium subscription adds extra features, described on our Premium page. Premium features may change over time.

To access certain features, you must create an account using:

• A third-party sign-in provider (Google, Apple or Discord)

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live, you may only create and use an account with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for gross negligence or intent, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

OpaLingo contains proprietary content including:

• Software code and algorithms
• Educational content and lesson structures
• Audio recordings and pronunciation guides
• Graphics, images, and visual designs
• Trademarks and branding elements

Users may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Users agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
• Share inappropriate or harmful content
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

OpaLingo has public profiles, display names, usernames, follows, reactions and leaderboards. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Names, usernames and profile content must not be hateful, harassing, threatening, sexual, violent, discriminatory, impersonate someone else, or be spam.

You can report a profile from its profile page and block any user; blocked users are hidden from you. We review reports and may remove or reset content, change names, or suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using our service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

We strive to maintain service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, for example during maintenance or technical problems. We may change or improve features over time.

If we decide to discontinue OpaLingo entirely, we will give you reasonable notice in advance and refund any unused, prepaid Premium period bought on the web. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are refunded through Apple's or Google's process.

Pronunciation audio is provided as a learning aid. While we aim for accuracy, it may not perfectly reflect native pronunciation in every case. We recommend also listening to native speakers for comprehensive pronunciation training.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Modified" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

We may remove content, reset names, or suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms or your conduct harms other users or the service. When we do, we will tell you what we did and why, unless the law prevents it or telling you would undermine safety (for example with spam or fraud).

If you disagree with a decision, email us at contact@opalingo.com and we will review it. If we close your account without you having broken these Terms, we will refund any unused, prepaid Premium period bought on the web.

You can stop using OpaLingo and delete your account at any time in Settings.

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes will be settled by Swedish courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence.

If we cannot resolve a complaint together, consumers can turn to a consumer dispute body in their own country or to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN).

OpaLingo offers an optional Premium subscription (monthly or annual plan), processed by a payment provider that depends on where you purchase — on the web (Stripe), in the iOS app through Apple's App Store, or in the Android app through Google Play. By subscribing you agree to the following:

• Billing cycles: Monthly plans renew every month and annual plans every year, counted from the date of purchase. Your payment method is charged automatically at each renewal.
• Free trial: The annual plan may include a free trial for first-time subscribers (shown at checkout before you confirm). You add a payment method when the trial starts, and the first annual payment is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before then — cancel any time during the trial via the Billing Portal and you won't be charged. In the apps, Apple or Google offers the trial to eligible accounts and shows its terms before you confirm; cancel it in your device's subscription settings (iPhone) or in the Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions (Android) before the trial ends and you won't be charged. One trial per person. Streak tokens included with the plan are added with the first payment, not during the trial.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time — via the Billing Portal in your Premium settings for web purchases, in your device's subscription settings for App Store purchases, or in the Play Store app (Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) for Google Play purchases. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — no refunds are issued for unused days in a live billing period.
• Right of withdrawal (web purchases): Consumers in the EU/EEA normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. At checkout you ask us to start Premium immediately and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once access has started, to the extent the law allows. If you withdraw in a case where the right still applies, we refund you minus a proportionate amount for the Premium time already provided. This applies to purchases made on our website; for App Store and Google Play purchases, withdrawal and refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms.
• Refunds: Apart from the right of withdrawal, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at contact@opalingo.com. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play follow Apple's or Google's refund process.
• Failed payments: If a renewal payment fails, your Premium access is suspended until the payment is successfully retried or updated. We will notify you in-app.
• Price changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices. You will be notified at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect.

Streak Tokens are a virtual in-app currency available as one-time purchases. By purchasing tokens you agree to the following:

• No monetary value: Streak Tokens have no cash value and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or transferred to another account.
• Non-refundable: Completed token purchases are non-refundable. Tokens are consumed when used and cannot be restored.
• No expiry: Token balances do not expire while your account remains active.
• Account termination: Unused tokens are forfeited if your account is permanently deleted or terminated for policy violations.

If you download OpaLingo from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use of the app is also subject to that store's terms, including, for the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Purchases made in the app are handled by the store and follow its payment and refund terms.

These Terms are between you and Gerra Labs AB only, not Apple or Google. We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for the app and its content. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and are not responsible for any claims relating to it, such as product liability, legal compliance or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you as they relate to the iOS app.
